Meet the Team

  • Sarah Carter, Principal Investigator

    Dr. Sarah Carter is a clinical psychologist and research assistant professor at the Uniformed Services University. For over a decade, she has worked with military Service Members, veterans, and their families to improve relationships and mental health. Dr. Carter led the program development and oversees the research study.

  • Ershia François, Lead Study Support

    Ms. François earned her BS in Psychology from Towson University and her MA in Psychological Science from The Catholic University of America. Ershia leads day-to-day coordination of the research study.

  • Chere' Rogers, Study Coordinator

    Chere’ supports study participants and study needs in the Tri-Base SE area.

  • Dr. Erin Cobb, Co-Investigator

    Dr. Erin Cobb is a couples and family therapist and research scientist at the Uniformed Services University. In both her professional life and personal life as a military spouse and FRG leader, she focuses on supporting military families. Dr. Cobb is a lead contributor to program development.

  • Katy Alvarado, Research Associate

    Mrs. Alvarado earned her BA in Psychology and Recreation and Leisure studies from Virginia Wesleyan University and a MA from the American Military University. She is a Certified Recreational Therapist and currently serves as a Corpsman in the Navy Reserves. As a research associate, Katy provides subject matter expertise to the program.

  • Daniel Pina, Research Associate

    Mr. Pina earned his BA from Arizona State University. He is an ordained minister and is retired from the U.S. Army, where he served as an Infantryman/Scout Sniper. As a research associate and military subject matter expert, Dan has contributed to program and study development.

  • Max Stivers, Research Associate

    Mr. Stivers earned his MA in Psychology from Pepperdine University while working in clinical and community mental health research. As a research associate for the study, Max has contributed to the development of study materials and protocols.

    For over 30 years, PREP Inc. has developed and disseminated evidence-informed and tested interventions to help couples and individuals succeed in their relationships. Their flagship relationship education program, PREP (Prevention and Relationship Education Program), is the most widely used, evidence-based relationship education program for couples. PREP, Inc. has a team of experts in relationship education, including two of the leading scholars on the subject of relationship education in the world who are co-owners of PREP, Inc.

  • Dr. Marjan Holloway, Co-Investigator

    Dr. Marjan Holloway is a clinical psychologist and professor at the Uniformed Services University. She has over 12 years of intervention development experience, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral programs tailored for military personnel.

  • Dr. Jessica LaCroix, Co-Investigator

    Dr. Jessica LaCroix is a social psychologist and research assistant professor at the Uniformed Services University. Her work focuses on designing and evaluating prevention interventions for military Service Members and their romantic partners.
